PIVA

The PIVA or “Pattaya International Vegetarian Alliance” had its inaugural meeting at the “Tammachart Vegetarian Restaurant” in Soi Yume on Saturday 1st of  September. The Guest of honour was Mr. Pornthep Srinarula, founder and Charter President of the “Bangkok International Vegetarian Alliance”.  PIVA will have a meeting with a nice and very tasty vegetarian meal the first Saturday of each month, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.  The next veggie feast will be on Saturday 6th  October. Trang Vegetarian Festival

Date: 13 - 22 October 2012

This vegetarian festival is a ritual to propitiate Lord Siva and another 9 gods as well as all holy Buddhist souls. Mediums will manifest themselves by walking on fire or piercing their bodies for the salvation of humans. Vegetarian food is eaten to cleanse the body and mind. Other activities include letting off fireworks, dragon dances, and sales of vegetarian food at low prices
